Friendliness Reading List

One of my goals for 2021-2022 is to actively study and cultivate friendliness. Treating it like a trainable skill. How can I actively work towards fostering more and better relationships, working better with others, and build a richer social life?

  1. How to Win Friends And Influence People - Dale Carnegie, obviously.
  2. Nonviolent Communication: A Language of Life: Life-Changing Tools for Healthy Relationships 1. Marshall B. Rosenberg, Deepak Chopra - how to communicate without bias, finger pointing, anger, or defensiveness.
  3. Impro: Improvisation and the Theatre - Keith Johnstone - because all conversations are improvisations
  4. Radical Candor - Kim Scott - how to be nice and not kind
  5. Games People Play - Eric Berne - Understanding what goes in social interactions.
  6. What do you Say After You Say Hello? - Eric Berne - follow up to Games People Play
  7. Running On Empty & Running on Empty No More - Jonice Webb - books on overcoming childhood emotional neglect, which may lead to habits and patterns of thoughts that can interfere in relationships.
  8. I'm Ok You're Ok - Thomas A Harris - how our inner understanding impacts our relationships with others.
